DNA is collected by rubbing the provided mouth swab gently inside the mouth against the cheek for 15 seconds. The collection is safe and painless.
After the laboratory receives your DNA sample, the DNA analysis will begin immediately. First we extract DNA from your mouth swab sample, then we utilize state-of-the-art scientific equipment to sequence between 20 and 26 autosomal STR markers. These are the exact same markers used for paternity and forensic analyses and are used to generate your genetic fingerprint. Your genetic fingerprint is unique to you and this is what we use to create your own unique GenoArt masterpiece.
No, there is no age limit for collecting DNA or creating a GenoArt masterpiece. A DNA sample can be easily collected from anyone, including newborns.
No, the collection kits do not have an expiration date.
The collection kit is stored at room temperature before and after sample collection.
No. The art creation will only proceed for DNA samples collected using the sterile mouth swabs provided with each kit.
The collection kits and GenoArt creations can be shipped to any country in the world.
